David Sunflower Seeds History

In the 1930s, David expanded his business by roasting and selling sunflower seeds, and he eventually founded the David Seed Company in 1926. The company grew steadily over the next few decades, and in 1961, it was acquired by the American Candy Company.

Under the ownership of American Candy, David seeds became a nationally recognized brand, known for their high quality and distinctive taste. In 1977, the company was acquired by ConAgra Foods, one of the largest food companies in the United States.

Today, David seeds are sold in a wide variety of flavors and packaging sizes, and they continue to be a popular snack in the United States. The brand has also expanded to include other types of snacks, such as pumpkin seeds and trail mix.
