Taste has changed

I had Barley Pops as a child in the 60s and 70s, and Lobster Pops from Old Time Candy in the last decade. The Lobster Pops from Old Time Candy never really tasted like the old barley pops, but they were enjoyable. After being out of stock for several years, I find the taste has changed again. In addition to an almost too-strong cherry taste, there is a rather unpleasant and very persistent marshmallow after-taste. Others may enjoy these two tastes together, but I do not, so sadly, it's time to make barley pops just a memory.

When I was a kid we always got Good and Plenty when we went to the movies. My sister would only eat the pink ones, even though I kept telling her they tasted the same as the white ones. Just seeing them today reminds me of my little sister and the sweet taste of black licorice.
