One day he decided that he would like to try something different and he picked up a roll of Spree. I picked out my usual penny candy fare. We got back to the house and spread out our goodies. My Grandpa put his roll of Spree on the table. They were so bright and shiny that I just had to open them!
We tried them together and they were so different than the usual stuff we picked out... they were definitely a kick in the mouth! I was even more enamored with them when I saw the color of my Grandpa's tongue as he laughed! Bright orange! To this day when I eat Spree, I think of my Grandfather and that makes the candy that much better for me. ~ Jennifer from Oregon
I remember always going to the Jersey shore for 2 weeks when I was a child. We went for years. Finally my cousin and I were old enough to go to the boardwalk ourselves. I remember placing a bet on the wheel in order to win candy. My number came up and my cousin told me to pick Spree. I had never had them before, so I took her advice and told the person who spun the wheel that was what I wanted. That was the first time I ever had them.
Now whenever I have Spree I think of my entire family at the shore (many are gone now), I remember feeling grown up then, and now I remember being a kid from Jersey that loved and still does love the shore, the boardwalk, and Spree! ~Dawn from New Jersey
