Cinnamon Bears History
Cinnamon Bears are a type of candy that have been popular in the United States since the early 20th century. The exact origins of Cinnamon Bears are unclear, but they are believed to have been created by candy makers in the Western United States.
One popular theory is that Cinnamon Bears were created by the Ferrara Candy Company in Chicago in the early 1900s. The company is known for producing a variety of candies, including Red Hots and Lemonheads, which are similar in flavor to Cinnamon Bears.
Another theory is that Cinnamon Bears were created by a candy company in Utah in the 1950s. The company, named "Goelitz," was known for producing a variety of candies, including Jelly Belly jelly beans.
Regardless of their origins, Cinnamon Bears quickly became popular and are now produced by a variety of candy companies. They are typically made by coating gummy candies in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, giving them a spicy and sweet flavor that is popular among candy lovers.
Today, Cinnamon Bears are a popular treat that can be found in many stores and online retailers. They are often used as a topping for ice cream and other desserts, and are a popular snack for moviegoers and road trips.
Cinnamon Bears Memories
In the early 50's I was a latch-key kid (although we didn't lock the house back then, so I never really had my own key). I would walk home from first grade, and while Mom and Dad were still at work I would search the house to find a penny.
Once I found one I would go down the block to the little neighborhood store and use the penny to buy two cinnamon bears. Yum! I loved them. Some days I couldn't find a penny, which would put a damper on my whole afternoon. Thinking back, I'm sure there were lots of other penny-candies in that little store, but the cinnamon bears are the only ones I really remember. ~ Corliss from Colorado
