Candy Memories

When I was younger, I use to use candy necklaces for real necklaces and would wear them to the mall, store and fairs! People would try to eat my candy! Then I would run to my home and lock my bedroom door! Then, when I thought the coast was clear, I would go back outside and eat my candy before I could knock up for my friends and play again.
The necklaces were good, but I didn't like the green flavor! It tasted like lime, I don't like lime!) My favorite flavor was banana, the yellow bead! Sometimes I would share with my mother and sister! Angela from Pennsylvania
I remember wearing the candy necklaces when I was a little girl...I would promise myself EVERY time that I would not nibble on that necklace. No sir not this time...not even one little disc...well before long my neck and hair would be a sticky candy necklace mess. Alas, I never did make it past an hour I don't think. I just ended up with that wet multi colored string and a promise that next time I would make it if it killed me! Debra from Kentucky
When my sister and I were around 5 and 6, there was nothing like that chalky taste of the candy necklaces. Our Dad would bring some home on payday Fridays as a special treat for us and our friends. We would sit out on the front steps on a nice sunny day, and wait for that special treat. Not only did they taste good, but we would wear them as our 'dress up' jewelry. Dorothy from Maryland
