Candy Memories
I cannot believe you have Bun bars in maple! I'm so excited -- can't you tell! When I was a kid about the only time we had these were at Halloween on beggar's night as we called it. My Mom would buy a huge bag to hand out to the trick-or-treaters and of course save some for us. It was hard to go out "begging" knowing these were waiting at home. My Dad loved these too so it was lucky he always went with us or there would be none left!My sister and I would fight over these -- they were so good! Forget the other loot we brought home from trick-or-treating. We always ate these first.
My sister's birthday is coming up so I'll have to surprise her with some of these. Won't that bring back memories! Susan from Arkansas

Bun was a great candy bar, chocolate, peanuts and caramel or vanilla or maple goodness inside. Back in the late 50's and 60's, they weren't everywhere. My Dad was a traveling salesman and whenever he happened across them, he would treat me with a handful of them. He always got a big hug as a reward. Still can't find them here in Ohio, but a few years ago, my youngest daughter bought me a case of each for Christmas. What a dear. They're terrific frozen!
