Candy Memories

I was born in Sioux City, Iowa and moved about the age of 5, but returned to Sioux City, ever year to spend weeks during the summer with my aunt and uncle. My uncle owned a bait and marine shop that I worked in during the week and spent the weekends at the lake fishing and camping. One of the first things we did when I came into town was go to Palmer Candy in Sioux City and load up on Black Jacks and then we'd have to go weekly to stock up for the weekend trip!! To this day, when we travel to Sioux City, Iowa.. a trip to Palmer Candy is on our list to get those Black Jacks!! Kim from Kansas
My Daddy's favorite candy was anything that had a black licorice flavor. As a little girl, he would always stop and pick up a few pieces of Black Jack Taffy and bring them home to my brother and I every Friday. My brother hated black licorice, so he always gave his to me. My daddy passed away almost 20 years ago, but every time I smell black licorice, I think of those days long ago when everything was wonderful. Angie from Georgia
Loved them since I was a child the only place I could find them was in Michigan. I had my family sending them to us no matter where in the world the army sent my husband. Cindy from North Carolina
