Candy Memories

Oh how I loved to lick on B B Bats. My favorite flavor was banana closely followed by chocolate. I grew up in a small town in Connecticut. There was a store near our middle school called the "Smoke Shop" that carried a great selection of candy. Either before school, or afterwards if I didn't have to catch the bus home, I'd often go there and buy a Charms cherry flavored lollipop or a pack of Razzles (were they candy or were they gum?), but always left with a banana or chocolate flavored BB Bat. I would lick these little delights until my tongue started to bleed... and not stop until I was finished. It's been quite a while since I enjoyed a banana BB Bat, I think that I'll order some of them now! ~ Liz from California Rebecca from New York
My grandmom volunteered at the local library, and they would have monthly programs for children, magic shows, puppet shows etc. She always got tickets for the 6 grandkids, and give us money to buy a drink & snacks... My favorite was Banana BB Bats, and every time I see them, it brings back great memories of those happy, simpler, innocent days! Maxine from Pennsylvania
When I was little we had stores that were in front of people's houses-- neighborhood markets. They always carried lot of penny candy and I always chose banana taffy suckers. Reminds me of summer days when my aunt and I would ride her horse to the market to buy penny candy and pop. Great days! Joni from Montana
