"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When I was in 2nd grade, we lived in Church Point, Louisiana. While waiting for the bus, I noticed that one of my closest friends, a diabetic, was eating a candy bar. I had never seen one like this before - It was white chocolate covering this tan filling (which I now know is nougat). I asked her why she was eating candy since it could be very bad for her. Her response was "it's ok - the white means that it's safe for diabetics). At first I totally believed her & was afraid to try it since I didn't have diabetes. After talking to my mom I realized that it wasn't a "safe" candy... just a normal one & I HAD to try it. I ran right out to the store & bought one. I absolutely fell in love with it. I had one every week as my treat with my allowance.
We moved a year later up to New Jersey. I was heart broken when I couldn't find Zero's like I could in Louisiana. I would find one or two at random stores, but I haven't had one now for at least 2 years. But I will always remember the first bite into that sweet vanilla fudge topping & the caramel dripping down over the nougat. ~ Tracy from New Jersey
