Zagnut memories... I
was quite the whiney child growing-up. My mother made the regretful
mistake of giving me a chocolate bar one day as a treat. I very much
enjoyed it. However, following that day, whenever we went to the
grocery store I spotted that chocolate bar wrapper and through a fit
until I got one. My mother always just gave in not knowing what to do
with me.
Finally, one day at the grocery store I didn't spot my usual
wrapper and began to initiate the usual fit. My mother, assuming she
was being all clever, told me that the bar had changed it's wrapper
and the chocolate bar was now a little different. She asked me if I
still wanted one and I said yes. She picked up a Zagnuts bar, assuming
I would hate it and lose interest in getting a chocolate bar every
time we went to the store. She was very wrong. I absolutely loved it
and it has since been my favorite candy bar to date. ~ Bonnie from
Ohio
I have a story about Zagnuts. My older brother and I would go
to the movies in northern Minnesota on Saturday afternoons during the
long cold winters. Mom would give us enough money to each get a candy
bar. My brother would always punch me to get half of my candy bar. I
started buying Mounds or Almond Joys so at least he would not take a
huge bite out of my bar.
One
time I was at the candy counter and I saw this new bar - Zagnuts. I
bought it and returned to my seat. As usual my brother started to
pound on my shoulder to get "his" half. I handed it to him.
He took a huge bite and then spit it out on the floor. "That's
awful." He hit me a couple more times and then left me alone.
From that moment on all I ever bought were Zagnuts. Since then I
have craved Zagnuts. ~ Craig

My childhood memories go back
many many years. As a young girl I always loved peanut butter &
coconut and when my parents first bought me a Zagnut bar I didn't
want any other. Although sometimes they would buy other candy too,
which I would eat, BUT, I always saved the Zagnut for last.... also
I ate it very slowly to savor every bite and crumb that would fall
in my hand.
One day on a family picnic,
my mom gave me a zagnut bar to share with my sister and told me to
play with her on the swings. Well I put her on the titter/totter and
I weighed more, so I sat on the bottom and raised her to the top and
didn't let her down until I finished my delicious zagnut bar! What a
memory that brings back of my childhood and love of my favorite
candy bar. ~ Beverly from Florida
