"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.I was 10 years old in 1956 and I remember being addicted to whoppers. I used to help my Dad count his money and one day he had a lot (maybe 30) of one dollar bills. When he wasn't looking, I stole $1.00. The first thing I did was go to the store and buy as many whoppers as I could get for my (stolen) dollar.
Later that night Dad told me that he had (lost) one of his dollars and because of that....he couldn't pay the electric bill that week. I started crying and told him what I did. Naturally he forgave me... and also taught me a valuable lesson. If I wanted whoppers... I had to work for them. THAT'S when I started to clean the house and make my own money. Almost ALL of it went for whoppers. I still love whoppers and now I buy them by the box. ~ Michele from Pennsylvania
