Valomilk History

The Valomilk candy is a marshmallow-filled chocolate cup that has been enjoyed by candy lovers for several decades. Here's a brief overview of the Valomilk candy's history:

1931: The Valomilk candy was first introduced by the Sifers Candy Company, a confectionery manufacturer based in Merriam, Kansas, USA. It was created by chewing gum salesman Harry Sifers, who sought to develop a unique candy product.

Original Recipe and Design: The Valomilk candy features a cup-shaped milk chocolate shell filled with a creamy marshmallow center. The candy is known for its distinctive texture, with the marshmallow center being soft and gooey.

Popularity and Distribution: The Valomilk candy quickly gained popularity in the local Kansas City area and began to expand its distribution to other regions. It became known for its indulgent combination of chocolate and marshmallow, and consumers enjoyed the unique experience of biting into the chocolate shell to reveal the creamy center.

Ownership Changes: Over the years, the ownership of the Valomilk brand changed hands. The Sifers Candy Company sold the Valomilk trademark and formula to the L.M. Becker Company in the 1980s. Subsequently, in 2003, the brand was acquired by the Russell Sifers Candy Company, which brought the candy back under the Sifers family's ownership.

Continued Production: The Valomilk candy is still produced by the Russell Sifers Candy Company. While it may not be as widely distributed as some other candy brands, it continues to have a dedicated following of fans who appreciate its nostalgic appeal and unique marshmallow-filled center.

The Valomilk candy's enduring presence in the confectionery market can be attributed to its classic recipe, memorable taste, and loyal customer base. Despite changes in ownership over the years, the candy has retained its original charm and continues to be enjoyed by those seeking a delightful combination of chocolate and marshmallow in a single bite.

Valomilk Memories

I remember when I was 6 or 7 years old (I am now 48) my brother would bring Valomilks home and he would sometimes share one with me if I didn't pester him too much that day. Back then they had little cardboard circles in each package and if you got enough of them they would send you 10 Valomilks for free! A virtual goldmine for a young kid!!

I remember one day my Mom telling my Brother that he got something in the mail and when he saw the cardboard mailing tube a smile came across his face. The free Valomilks had arrived! All of the collecting had finally paid off!! I smile when I see a Valomilk to this day!! ~ Phillip from Indiana
