Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum History

Hubba Bubba is a brand of bubble gum that was first introduced by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company in the United States in 1979. The gum was created in response to the growing popularity of bubble gum among young people, and was marketed as a fun and flavorful alternative to traditional chewing gum.

The name "Hubba Bubba" was chosen to reflect the catchy, upbeat nature of the product, and the gum was initially released in two flavors: Original and Strawberry. The product was advertised with a series of memorable television commercials featuring catchy jingles and colorful imagery.

Over the years, Hubba Bubba has expanded its product line to include a wide variety of flavors and formats, including bubble tape, bubble gum squeeze pouches, and even a line of chewing gum with added vitamins.

Hubba Bubba has become a popular candy brand around the world, known for its fun and playful image as well as its delicious flavors. The brand has also been featured in a variety of popular media, including movies, television shows, and video games, cementing its place in American and global pop culture.

Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum Memories

When I was a kid (back in the 80's), my family would attend a big family reunion every summer at a park by my grandma's house. Sometime in the hot afternoon, there would be races and other contests to entertain the children and finally, the contest to top them all...bubble blowing.

My grandma would crack open an entire box of Hubba Bubba (since we all knew it was the best for blowing bubbles) and all the kids would fight over the packs of gum inside, until we all had about three pieces crammed into our tiny mouths.

After about five minutes of chewing, we'd all get a few tries to blow the biggest bubble we could and the winner would get some sort of prize (usually more gum). One of the big kids always won it, but the little ones were all happy to have gotten a few pieces of free gum. ~ Tyler from Utah
