Boston Baked Beans History

Boston Baked Beans is a classic candy that has been enjoyed for decades. Here's an overview of its history:

Boston Baked Beans candy was first introduced in the early 1900s by the Ferrara Candy Company. The candy's name and concept were inspired by the traditional New England dish of baked beans, which are slow-cooked in a sweet and savory sauce.

The candy itself consists of peanuts coated in a crunchy candy shell, resembling the appearance of baked beans. The peanut center provides a satisfying nutty flavor, while the candy coating adds a touch of sweetness.

Boston Baked Beans quickly gained popularity, becoming a favorite among candy lovers. The combination of peanuts and the unique candy shell texture created a distinctive snacking experience.

The Ferrara Candy Company, originally known as the Ferrara Pan Candy Company, has been producing Boston Baked Beans for over a century. They continue to manufacture and distribute the candy, ensuring its availability to consumers.

Boston Baked Beans candy can be found in various retail outlets, including grocery stores, convenience stores, and online retailers. It remains a popular choice for those seeking a crunchy, peanut-flavored treat.

The enduring appeal of Boston Baked Beans lies in its nostalgic charm and unique flavor profile. It has become a beloved candy for many, offering a delightful combination of peanuts and a crunchy candy shell that resembles the classic dish it is named after.

Boston Baked Beans Memories

My family always did a lot of cook outs when I was little and the one thing I could not stand to eat was baked beans. What repulsed me even more was the fact that my big sister always asked for them as a treat! Every time my mom would go to the store my sister would ask her to get some Boston Baked Beans and then she would gobble them up. I was beyond shocked that anyone would want to eat beans out of a little box.

One day I discussed my repulsion with my mother and she just busted out laughing. Now, not only was I sickened, but upset that my mom was laughing at me. Finally, when she caught her breath, she told me that Boston Baked Beans were a yummy candy and they were not actually beans. The next time she went to the store she bought me some. Of course I was a little hesitant, but I tried them and I loved them. They are my favorite candy to this very day. ~ Marjorie from Missouri
