The DeMet’s Candy Company was started in 1898 as a candy store business and soda fountain shop by George DeMet of Chicago. One store quickly became three stores, and over the next half-century the DeMet’s family built a delicious, thriving business in the Chicago area, all the while creating and perfecting their signature TURTLES candies.
