"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.I have searched high and low for Squirrel Nut Zippers. And have finally found them in your on-line store. Many years ago, when I became old enough to pick out my own penny candy, I would always go to the glass candy case and look inside to see what there was to buy. (I would usually have five to 10 cents to spend). I can remember waiting very impatiently for my turn to come so the clerk would wait on me. I remember the wonderful taste of peanuts and I think it was molasses.
As I grew older and was allowed to walk to the store, I would get my squirrel nut zippers in a little brown paper bag and eat my candy on my way back home. It would stick to the roof of my mouth and my teeth and I would have to pry it loose with my finger. But loved every minute of it. ~ Brenda from Maryland
