"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.Since my birthday is the day before Halloween, as a child my parents would let me dress up in my Halloween costume on October 30 and go trick-or-treating a day early. The catch was that on my birthday, I had to GIVE candy to everyone whose house I went to. Only on Halloween proper could I GET candy.
One of my fondest childhood memories is seeing my neighbors' eyes light up when I knocked on their door on my birthday with a candy treat for them-- usually Spearmint Leaves. And I always made out very well in the candy department the next day, because of my parents' generous belief that one should give to others, not just take.Spearmint leaves were a favorite of my late father, who brought them home often. I plan to bake a green apple-shaped birthday cake for a friend, which I will decorate with Green Spearmint Leaf Candy. ~ Lynn from Utah
