"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.Oh, Sour Patch Kids! These bring back sweet memories of my childhood visits to my grandparents cottage on Lake Ontario. A small penny candy store up the road sold these by the pound and my cousins and I would round up all the change we could find, plus the change Grandma would slip us when Grandpa wasn't looking and run to the store to buy as many as we could!
When we returned, we'd have contests to see who could hold the Sour Patch Kid in their mouth the longest without chewing it or moving their tongue. It was hilarious to see our tiny little faces all puckered up wanting to win, what to us was just as important as the Olympic games!
To this day every time I see a child puckering up to a Sour Patch Kid, I smile, remembering those carefree days of contests by the lake. ~ Brandi from New York
