Screaming Yellow Zonkers
memories... When you are a kid and your mom brings home something
called Screaming Yellow Zonkers what else can you do but try to
imagine exactly what a Screaming Yellow Zonker would be and try to
become it. I mean, I knew it was the treat inside the box but I was
also pretty sure that I had to become one when I ate them. What fun to
have a treat that tastes good, stimulates the imagination, and allows
me to drive my family crazy and blame it on the food!!!
I remember a car ride once where my sister and I teamed up while
chowing down on Screaming Yellow Zonkers. We started slowly and
quietly but figured we had to get crazier as we ate - the more fuel
you put in, the greater the transformation. We only knew one word - "Zonk"
and it got louder and louder and funnier and funnier as we went. Good
thing it was only a short drive!
Now that I am a grown up, at least in age, seeing this classic black
and yellow box still makes me want to figure out exactly what I would
be like if I were a Screaming Yellow Zonker. Maybe I will try it out
with the kids at home and see what they think it means to be a

I am 54 years old yet I remember
Zonkers like it was yesterday. I remember one important thing about
Screaming Yellow Zonkers is that you have to eat at least half of the box
before you read anything written on the box. If you do not do this in this
order you will not understand anything written on the box. This applies
every time you open a box because the effect does wear off you just don't
realize it.
I remember chanting "ZONKERS" as I
searched through the house looking for the box that WAS on my desk. I remember
overhearing my kids saying don't eat all of them because if she finds the box
empty she will go zonkers. I realized I
had to find this once in a lifetime snack when my daughter-in-law looked at me
like I was crazy when I asked her if she had ever tried them. ~ Angel from

Screaming Yellow Zonkers has always been my very favorite candy! There has never been and never will
be a popcorn snack that compares with them!
I remember when I was a kid, and got my first-ever tape recorder, one of the first things I did was make up a radio commercial for them. It
involved a boisterous jingle containing the lyrics "I am BONKERS for Screaming Yellow ZONKERS!" Those were the days! ~ Tina from
