story? Share it here.
The year was 1965. I was four years old, and my family had just moved to a new house, so I was the new kid on the block. This was a magical time. Innocence, new experiences, a time of exploration, mini bikes in the field down the street, and lunch boxes. I had just started elementary school, and Mom would pack my Munsters lunch box every morning, including a chocolate Scooter Pie.
As most kids that age would do at lunchtime, trading would be a traditional activity. Not me. Nobody got my Scooter Pie. Time flew by in those days, and times changed oh too quickly. Favorite things go by the wayside. You grow up, and move on. On the rare occasion, you cross paths with something that sparks a fond memory and for a moment, you are taken back in time to a magical place, where all is right with the world, the mini bike starts on the first pull of the rope, and there is a Scooter Pie in your lunch box waiting for you.
