"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When my brother and I were kids (in the 50's and early 60's, we would visit our Grandparents about once a month. They lived in the country, about an hour away from our home. The drive seemed to take forever. We usually went on Sunday morning, first attending services at the church our Mom was raised in. Then we would head to our grandparent's house.
Our Grandmother, whom we called Foo-Foo, would cook a huge dinner. Our Mom's family was of German heritage, so we were served German/country type food. Foo-Foo always kept Saf-t-Pops in her cabinet, and we would be rewarded for eating our dinner (or probably even if we didn't.) I remember being fascinated with the different colors and of course the yummy flavors. ~ Brenda from Texas
