Candy Memories

I'll always love Rock Candy ! It reminds me of my Mama, born, July 4th, 1885. Long Island City, was our home in 1930's New York. We kept Rock Candy in an Apothecary jar. We were known as the "Six Singing Santos Sisters." Convinced that Rock Candy improved the quality of our voices. Rock Candy went into our WW2, CARE packages, into our lunch boxes, movie theaters, and the opening of the 1939 New York World's Fair. In my opinion; It's the next best thing to chewing on a fresh stick of sugar cane, down in the islands. Lita from California
When I was 8-years-old my mother would give me my $1 allowance for helping out around the house. I would take my dollar in my pocket and ride my bicycle to the local candy store. It was my favorite store with its wooden floors and the bells hanging on the door would ring when I opened it to go in. They sold greeting cards, comic books, small toys and games and of course CANDY!! I used to buy red licorice, jaw breakers and rock candy in a box. My favorite was the Bazooka bubble gum because I could buy a whole hand full at a penny a piece! I would leave that store with my dollar completely spent but with a full bag of candy to bring home. I would hide the bag in my room under my stuffed animals on my bed. Then at night when I had to go bed, I would sit in the dark and eat most of treasure. My mother and father never knew (at least I don't think so). Donna from New York

Rock Candy Crystals

I introduced my granddaughter to rock candy. I told her how much I loved this as a little girl.

I'm Addicted. I Admit It.

Some purists say rock candy must come on a string or stick. But I'm happier with the boxed rock candy so I don't have to eat around the string/stick. I can just knock 'em back. Mmmm. Good old pure cane sugar in crystalized form. :) My favorite candy on the planet.

Candy Lover

I used to buy these in museums when I was younger. I haven't seen these in years and then found them on this website. I was so excited. They taste so good.
