Push Pops memories... I remember eating Push Pops as a kid in the early to mid-80's--my sisters & I
were not allowed to eat much candy, but we used to receive these in our Christmas stockings—no oranges and apples in the stockings for us.
We would try and eat just a little of each push pop at a time, storing it in its plastic tube with
the top over it the rest of the time--of course, the push pop always got all gooey and sticky, but we didn't care! They are such a weird
candy, but of course, that’s what appeals to little kids. ~ Mae from Georgia
Back when I was about five
years old, my dad would give me push pops every Friday when he got
paid. I would sit in front of the tv watching I Love Lucy for hours.
My tongue would be so red that Mom would make me brush my teeth
before dinner! It takes hours and hours to finish this candy off but
I enjoyed every single second of it. ~ Sharon from Texas
Every week before I started
school, I would go with my Grandma to the grocery store and I was
able to pick out a piece of candy, and my favorite I got almost
every week was a Strawberry Push Pop. I would be happy watching tv
with it for hours, even pretending it was lipsticks and rubbing it
over my lips.
Its been a long time and
strawberry is hard to find now since they have the dual-flavors, but
I still look every once in while when I want something sweet other
then chocolate. ~ Kathy from Virginia
