"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When I was little we were very poor. I tried to get money for treats. I would walk the streets and look for soda bottles. Back then a big bottle would give you $ .05. WOW enough for a planters peanut bar. I think I liked it because it was good, and I could save it and eat it slow. It wasn't sticky and would not melt.
Oh those were the days 5 cents for a candy bar that was way bigger than your hand and could last for the whole day. I have had trouble finding this candy. I have to order on line to get a bar. What ever happened to the penny candies and the corner grocery stores? The days when people knew who you were and remembered what you came in for. Harvey was the grocer. He was great. He knew I didn't have much. He always made sure he had jobs for me so I could get my treat, Planters peanut bar. ~ Diana from Pennsylvania
