Peanut Brittle is a hard and brittle candy, which consists of flat broken pieces of hard sugar candy embedded with peanuts. The history of peanut brittle can be traced to lumberjack and hero, Tony Beaver. It seems that Tony accidentally created peanut brittle in the 1920s when he stopped a West Virginia flood using peanuts and molasses. Not only does he save the town, but he also invents a wonderful candy. Sounds like a "tall tale" to me but we really like it. |
