"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.As a weak kid, I "helped" our next-door neighbor, Mert, take our milk cans to the milk plant for processing. The highlight of these trips occurring in the years 1956-62 was a stop-off on the way back to the farm at Mr. Mayo's "Flying Red Horse" gas station. For gratitude Mert treated me to a sweet of my choice. Gee, most were only 5 or 10 cents apiece at the time. How I basked in the anticipation of a Nestles Milk Chocolate (which, I honestly liked A LOT better that a Hershey bar). I learned that all good things came to an end. Even as a kid I savored each bite while it lasted. ~ Timothy in California
