"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.Mint Juleps were my favorite candy growing up on Long Island (NY). I remember buying them every time I went to the local movie theatre (during the sixties). A pack of about six to eight candies (I can't remember the exact amount) cost a nickel at the Woolworth's store, which was a penny less than they sold them at the movie theatre.
The candies would last a long time so you could eat them throughout the movie (which by the way cost fifty cents at that time). I somehow remember them coming in a waxy wrapping rather than clear plastic, but they certainly tasted great!! Banana splits were my second favorite, yet I rarely bought them if Mint juleps were available!! Although not great on the teeth, I'm happy to see they brought them back! Now if only they could bring back the Hollywood Candy Bar!!! Thanks for listening!! ~ Jeff from New York
