Sen Sen Memories...

I have been searching for Sen Sen for years!! I was the first grandchild on my mothers side and the only grandchild who really got to know my grandfather. I can remember him having Sen Sen all of the time and sharing them with me! To this day I can remember how they smell and taste just by thinking about my grandfather and I haven't had one since I was 8 years old and that was 32 years ago!!! Just seeing the package brought back memories. Thanks for keeping the past alive... Diana from Indiana

More memories... For as long as I can remember my dad had several packages of Sen Sen, one in his suit pocket and always extras in his top dresser drawer, which had the distinctive smell from the candy treat. He always shared the strong tasting favorite with me and to this day, though I haven't been able to find them in years I can still "taste and smell" Sen Sen and it will always remind me of him. Two things that bring back great childhood memories, I miss them both, but now that I've found your web site I can get back one memory,  Thank you. Carolyn from New York

More memories... My grandpa always had a package of sen sen in his pants pocket. the other pocket had a badly crumpled pack of Camel Cigarettes . He would " sneak " off in the garage for a quick puff now and then. I was sworn to secrecy, but got my sen-sen when he took out the package. Of course Grandma always figured it out when she did the laundry! ~ Bob from Arizona

More memories...

My grandfather and I were very close as I was growing up and he had a big hand in raising me. I spent a lot of time at grandpa's as I was his favorite. Grandpa had a carport built on the side of the house and on the outside wall of the house was an old metal soda pop thermometer. At the top was, Come on in and get Kist, at the bottom it stated, Enjoy Kist beverages. (Grandpa had a little store on the property)

Well every Sunday we would get ready for church, Grandma would leave first for Sunday school with a friend and grandpa and I would meet her later for Sunday services. We would really get spiffed up while grandma was gone. We would take a shave, mine had no razor. With the old shave brush and cup of soap, slap on some Pub cologne, (great stuff) whip out my pinned striped double breasted suit that grandpa bought me, take a last look at each other, we were styling and out to the car we would go.

We would get all settled in and right before we took off grandpa would reach in his inside coat pocket and unfold that shiny little packet of breath fresheners, SEN SEN... one apiece, now just lay on your tongue and by the time we get to church it should be gone. We would walk in and grandma would be very pleased as the two handsomest fellers would sit down beside her.

After church we would all 3 hop in the car take a quick ride down main street and back to the house. We would pull up under the carport, get out and grandpa and I would walk over to that old metal thermometer and check the temp gonna be cooler in the shade today Ricky, go in the house turn on the old swamp cooler and watch TV... Yea you bet I have great memories of Sen Sen, I still get it when I can find it and it looks like I have found a good supply here.

I am 50 now and grandma and grandpa have gone on. The old house is still there and rented out to someone. I recently went by there to see if the old thermometer might still be on the wall under the carport. I finally got up the nerve to go ask the occupants if I could go check and they said, sure help yourself, after I told them it was my grandpa's house. Well there it was hanging on the wall and the glass gauge still intact. They told me to get it down and take it home which I did and it is hanging on my wall in my antique room pretty as ya please, it had hung on that wall for at least 20 years and still works. " It ain't no sin to enjoy Sen Sen." ~ Ricky from California
