Lollies memories...

My friends, and my brother and I all loved Lollies. One day we scraped together
as much change as we could to go the the drug store downtown to buy some. We
somehow figured out that if we bought the lollies one at a time we wouldn't be
charged tax and therefore we could buy a couple more of them. If I remember
right Lollies were 10 cents each.
So each of us took a turns taking one Lollie to the counter over and over again.
The clerk got so frustrated with us she asked us what we were doing. When we
explained she just rang up the lot of them without tax to get us out of the
store. We were thrilled with all our Lollies! ~ Joan from Illinois
Growing up in Louisville, my dad played
in a recreational ball league and a couple of nights a week we would go to watch
him play. I loved the ballpark so much as a kid. My father would always give us
a dollar or so to go to the snack bar and get treats for myself, my two sisters,
and my little brother. Naturally, we had to find treats that we could afford to
get a lot of.
We would buy several Lollies for a dime
each and one cup of Big Red. It's kind of gross to think of it now, but we would
all sit and dip our Lollies in the cup of cold Big Red until they got soft and
fizzy and then slurp it off. It was the best thing in the world on a hot day in
the bleachers watching Dad play ball. ~ Kris from Maine
Well when I was a young girl my favorite
candy was Lollies. I would always buy them whenever I had a few cents to spare.
I remember going to the store down the street and would always buy them. I was
addicted to them, and still to this day love them.
I was so excited to find them on line to
purchase them. I asked for them this past year for a Christmas gift. I am 39
years old and still addicted to them. I wish they were in stores still. I got my
3 kids addicted to them, they love them and always are asking for them. I just
wanted to share this with you all and let you know I LOVE LOLLIES!!!!!!!!! ~ Kim
