Kool-Aid memories...

For me, Kool Aid brings back
some happy childhood memories of when my sister and I, when we were
about six and seven years old, decided to make some money by selling
Kool Aid on the corner of our block. It was a hot, sunny, summer
afternoon, and we lived a few blocks from the beach, so we had
plenty of business.
Neighbors and people on their way to the
beach would stop to buy some Kool Aid. Unfortunately, business was so good that
we ran out of Kool Aid packets. While my sister manned the station, I ran back
to the house. I scoured the shelves but there was no Kool Aid to be found. All I
could get my hands on was a box of Jello.
There was a long line, so I figured I
might as well make a pitcher of it and hope nobody would notice. However, the
heat of the day caused the Jello to start to jell! Somebody exclaimed, "This
isn't Kool Aid, it's Jello!". I guess there's nothing like Kool Aid. ~ Claire
