Flicks memories...

I'm so glad Flicks are back, I can't
wait to try them. I've actually been dreaming about them for the last twenty
years, since they went off the market (don't worry, not all the time; I'm
crazy, but I'm not that crazy!)
When I was a kid, growing up in the early 70's, every trip to the movie
theater was punctuated by Flicks... not only was the chocolate great, but I
loved those weird, multi-colored 1930s-style art deco/pre-psychedelic tubes
(which always appear in my dreams).
A couple of years ago, I wrote to the Ghirardelli company and asked if they
would ever consider bringing Flicks back; they told me that it's impossible,
since the machine that makes the candy tubes -- invented in World War I --
no longer exists.
I am so happy Flicks are back, I can't believe it. All bets -- and diets --
are now officially off.
(PS, I'm not sure who's making Flicks now but, I hope, starting with the
next batch, they'll re-introduce the original wrapper, with the little men
running up the side of the tube... it's pop art at its best!) ~ Chuck from

When we used to go to the Drive-in movies our mom would always get flicks for us
as a treat. When I was about 12 my older sister and I each stuck a Flicks chocolate to our foreheads. I forgot about it and we went into the
refreshment stand during intermission, we were flirting with some really cute boys there and after they left my sister looked at me and started
laughing, I still had the chocolate stuck to my forehead! I was so embarrassed!
When I was ordering a sad friend some candy on your site 2 weeks ago, I noticed that Flicks were back! Of
course I had to send them as a surprise to my sister to bring back a fun (yet embarrassing) childhood memory of my favorite candy! ~ Patti from

I truly remember going to the movies in the 70's
and having Flicks every time. One summer I went to a Don Knott's Film Festival. How much fun it was to watch "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" and "The
Incredible Mr. Limpet" (among others) while eating my Flicks.
I have been unsuccessfully searching for Flicks by mis-spelling it (Flix). Then the wonderful Old Time Candy
Company came up when I finally spelled Flicks properly and I bought a whole box of them. Thank you Old Time Candy Company for refreshing my wonderful
childhood memories with the fantastic taste of "my" Flicks. ~ Suzanne from California
Oh Flicks! What memories! I grew up in Santa Clarita, Ca which was pretty much a small town with onion fields back then. We used to pile in the back
of my dads truck and drive to the local 7-11 and my sister and I would always pick Flicks candy over everything else. As a young child I would always
ask my dad for the "big chocolate chips in the cardboard tube". My dad is no longer with us now but this candy sure makes it feel like he is here with
me! They bring back very fond memories. ~ Michelle from California <<<
