My memories of the coconut slice go back about 30 years, I can remember going to the a certain neighborhood store with my grandfather. On the counter always sat a box of coconut slices. I would always be excited to go anywhere with my grandfather but this treat made it that much better. I can remember eating the first stripe and then the next until it was gone.

Sometimes he would go to the store without me and I would be disappointed, but he would always surprise me because at the bottom of the bag would be one of these treats just for me.

I am very excited to have found your web site because for the past two years I have past by this same store, and of course they do not carry this candy anymore, the new owners think I am crazy for asking about it.

I often tell my kids of places I went and things that I did as a kid, thoughts of this candy and my rides with my grandfather always seem to come to the front of my memories, I tried to find others that remember this candy with no luck, even my wife who is only a few years younger than I am doesn't remember the candy.

My family didn't have much money when I was a child, so treats were very special when we received them. When we had the opportunity to select a candy treat, my other three siblings would waste their choice on a candy that was "sub-par"(in my opinion). I always chose the Coconut slices. I LOVED them and was thrilled any time that I was blessed enough to get my hands on one (which was not very often). I haven't had one in 30 years until, recently, my 17 year old daughter had one. I don't know where it came from but she sweetly shared it with me. Heaven! She loved the candy so much I began a search to find a place to purchase them.
