Every year for St. Patrick's Day my Dad spray paints little green footprints all around our front yard. He makes them lead to a spot where a little black pot is and in the pot is the little chocolate gold coins. My daughter and sister love looking out for the Leprechaun. They also try setting a trap each year, they haven't caught the little green guy yet, but they get the coins. ~ Thank You, DaisyMae from New York

More memories... I have a recurrent dream at Christmas time. Smiling under a tree, eating little golden coins, I am in the bliss of sweetness. This dream feels life-like. In fact, my sister was reminiscing and asked me, "By chance, do you recall those golden chocolate coins dad used to put under the Christmas tree?" Suddenly, I felt awakened. My dream was a lingering childhood memory?!?! Extraordinary and life-long are the impressions this small golden sweetness has had on me. More memories... Some 30 years ago I was scoutmaster of a Boy Scout Troop. Each month our troop had a Treasure Hunt. I would stock an old chest with various "treasure" items such as assorted candy bars, boy scout craft kits, flashlights, theater tickets etc. To locate the treasure the scouts in patrol units, had to follow a series of clues sent by Morse code of delivered by Semaphore. The first patrol to find the treasure divided it.

One treasure chest was filled with those traditional kids favorite Chocolate Gold Coins. It was a 12 year old Tenderfoot scout who located the treasure so his patrol gave him the honor of opening the chest. The other five scouts jumped with glee in mouth watering anticipation of all that delicious chocolate.

The young Tenderfoot scout however was just sitting on the ground, staring at the chest and began crying. "What's the matter", I asked.

"Aw, I thought we were going to find some good stuff instead of those stupid gold coins".

I picked up one out of the chest and peeled off the gold wrapper." Look, it's chocolate!"
