Candy Necklace memories...

I remember when I the age of 10 I use
to have a crush on this girl who live a few houses away from me I remember
always watching her a she walk to school and back her. One day on valentines
day I gave her a candy necklace and ask her to be my valentine she accepted
the gift. A few years pass when she move away and the next time I saw her
believe it or not she still had the candy necklace in it original package
and she confessed to me that she had a crush on me to we dated for month and
I finally ask her to marry me and on our honeymoon I gave her a special box
she thought it was pearls but when she open she laugh and cry because it was
a candy necklace she said you remember my first gift you ever gave me. ~ Joe

Ah, the candy necklace. I remember being little and getting these fashionable necklaces. Typically, when I
received one, I would immediately put it around my neck. Soon, after the necklace, there was bracelets, and then I was the candy kid. I had them all
over me. Putting the necklace over my head, and then eating it every so slowly. Yes, my neck would get gooey and sticky. But, as a kid, you don't
mind. I also remember that I would eat a lot of the necklace and then just leave one piece left. And eventually, I would eat it and just wear the
string for a good while. I still eat candy necklaces if I get a craving for them but I think I'm past the whole sticky neck phase. ~ April from Ohio
I remember Candy Necklaces from when I was in grade school. I went to a one room school house and I was the
only one in my grade. I had only one teacher and used an outhouse, I am only 30 now. The school teacher Mrs. Hubbard would treat us very special when
we did well, we were a close school, much like a family, so when we were good and so on she would take us one by one to her house for a dinner of our
choice, and movies. One the way to her house, we go to choose a type of candy...I always chose the candy necklaces. I still eat them. I remember just
how special she made me feel as a person, not just as a student. So I connect Candy Necklaces to Mrs. Hubbard and my one room school house in
Nebraska. ~ Heather from Nebraska
I thought candy necklaces were the
coolest invention ever -- you got jewelry and sweets all in one. I loved the
pastel colors, and there were even times when I coordinated by outfit with my
pink-yellow-blue candy necklace. I imagined myself to be the best-dressed
second-grader on the playground, and I would make my candy necklace last for
several days by only nibbling off a few "beads" at a time. ~ Lisbeth from
Oklahoma
