Big League Chew memories...

Back in the day, I played
baseball with the neighborhood girls before supper time. We thought
we were the toughest thing around, so it was obvious that we chewed
Big League Chew. It stayed scrumptious for the whole nine innings!
Until of course, Mom would call us in for dinner, then I'd stick it
behind my ear and save it for later.
Every weekend, all of the kids in town
would line up at the nearest drug store for a taste of the gum that lasts
forever. Thank you for stocking this rare find and giving me a little bit of
childhood back. ~ Kaitlin from Texas
I remember when I was younger I would
play baseball at a local Little League organization. After every game they would
give us little coupons worth 50 cents. The Big League Chew would be $1.00 so I
would have to save the coupons for two games.
I would watch as my friends would get
slushies, but I knew that by waiting I could get that pouch of gum. When I
finally received the coupons needed I would run to the concession stand and
enjoy my Gum for days. ~ Michael from Georgia
I remember riding in the car with my father to a t-ball game with a big wad of
Big League Chew in my mouth. I think I was about 10 years old at the time and I
had a loose tooth. After a short while that gum yanked it right out! Of course,
as a kid I was so excited to have lost a tooth, and while chewing my favorite
gum no less! I still have the tooth, but it's been too long since I've had any
Big League Chew. Thanks for the memories! ~ Josh from Arizona
Just recently (about 2 weeks ago), my grandfather who took care of me as I was
growing up passed away. It has been very difficult for myself and my family to
deal with the loss of such an amazing man, but we have coped by sharing stories.
I remember when I was very young, I used to ride around town with my Grandpa
Harvey as he did his errands and visited his friends. We would always stop at
the neighborhood grocery store and let me pick out a treat. I remember often
picking out the Big League chew- sometimes grape, sometimes original. I would
carry it around in my pocket as if it were chewing tobacco and he would make
comments about me either being a baseball player or a cowboy pretending to chew
and use a spittoon. I felt like one of the guys, except I was a little girl! I
will always miss my grandpa, but these little memories will surely comfort me
along the way. ~ Amanda from Oklahoma
