"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.My grandmother always kept her grandchildren filled with different candies. What I remember most, though, was her crystal jar full of jawbreakers. I would sit and look at the jar and all of its wonderful colors, searching for the right jawbreaker to cure my sweet tooth. I love orange jawbreakers, so I would dig through the rainbow of candy to find one last orange jawbreaker in the jar that once held many.
My brother and sister would yell at me for digging, saying that the jawbreakers all taste the same, but I knew the orange ones were the best. Now my grandmother is aging more and more everyday and I is battling colon cancer. Whenever I visit her, I still search her cupboard for the crystal jar. The jar stands empty today, but my plan is to fill it with color soon, to give my grandma back her rainbow. ~ Kelly from South Dakota
