Back in the 80's when I was a little girl in 4th grade, my sister and I would get to go visit my Great Auntie Anne every weekend, just as my mom had when she was a child. When we got to her house, Auntie Anne would show us all the pop and chips she had stocked up for our weekend with her. We'd play games, do puzzles and help her with yard work at a penny per dandelion we pulled out of the lawn using just a pairing knife.
The best part of the weekend was when Auntie would take us to town. We'd go for pizza, then to our small town mall. Every week we got to pick out a package of bubble gum and I always chose Hubba Bubba, my favorite was grape.
I remember the pieces were HUGE! And I liked that I could blow big bubbles without getting it stuck on my face when it popped. I do remember once blowing a bubble so big that when it popped it deflated all the way up to my eyebrows! ~ From Rochelle in British Columbia, Canada
