"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.As was the case with everyone we knew when I was growing up, candy was only for special occasions. However, my grandmother lived with us and had a glass candy dish in her room ALWAYS filled with different hard candies. When she would leave her room, I learned to sneak in, lift the lid, take 2 pieces of candy (1 was never enough and 3 might get me caught) and sloooowly put the lid back so nobody heard the clink of the lid hitting the dish and know what I was doing.
My favorite was the Honeycombed peanuts which was only there at Christmas. I let the shell melt in my mouth until the peanut butter oozed through, making them last as long as I could. Ahhh, I can taste it now! ~ Nancy from Indiana
