I remember being in the fourth grade the first time I was introduced to Gummy Worms. I had an amazing fourth grade teacher, very progressive to the mid eighties. She was always thinking of creative ways to help us learn. One day she incorporated gummy worms into her lesson plan...what subject? I couldn't tell you but I know that it ended with her talking about a worm and she slowly held up a dangling worm, opened her mouth and started chewing. The whole class laughed and she passed out one gummy worm to each student. I can still recall the taste and texture of that worm. Wonderful.
