Gummi Bears memories.... One day when I was in
fourth grade, my teacher brought Gummi Bears in to share with the
class. She explained that the candy originated in Germany and then
gave us time to enjoy the treat. That day, on recess my friends and I
used some Gummi Bears that we had saved from class to play all sorts
of pretend games.
We held the Bears and played "house" with them. We played "surgery" but biting off various Bear parts, and then expanded our group of playmates by engaging the boys in a roaring game of "Gummi war." We rolled on the ground James Bond style launching Gummi Bears at our surprise-stricken classmates and teachers. That was a day I will never forget, and Gummi Bears will always be my favorite candy.

One day I was
at the store and I my daughter spotted a candy in the checkout called
Gummi Bears and all my childhood memories came flooding back. When I
was a small boy my mother used to buy me Gold-Bears as a treat and the
Gummi bears are the SAME THING! I can remember for every A on my grade
card I got a box of Gold-Bears. I thought I was the luckiest kid in
the world and believe me, I tried as hard as I could to get those A's,
because I loved Gold-Bears!
My mother could not believe my
devotion towards my studies after the first time she rewarded me with
Gold-Bears. Even though they have a different name, they are still
those chewy treats that I loved from my childhood. Little does my
daughter know, but I always get another box so I can revisit my
childhood while she enjoys hers. ~ Matt from Missouri
