"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.My favorite candy ever is called Flicks. Every time we went to the store with my mother we would see the little round tubes of Flicks at the store. This store was called Prairie Market in Longview, Washington. This store has been out of business for many years. This was one of the only stores I remember seeing this candy when myself and my four other sisters went shopping with our mother.
We always begged mom to get this candy for us and she would splurge and buy a couple of containers for us to share. I can remember on my Christmas lists each year I would ask for this candy. Now it is pretty silly to ask for a candy that no longer exists but I still remember the exact flavor as it melted in my mouth as a child. Each year our Christmas stockings would have a cardboard tube with different colored wrapping on it in our stockings. This candy was special and our Mom new it was special to us. We still as teenagers and young adults received this wonderful candy, until it stopped in the making.
So here I am at work reminiscing about childhood memories with a couple of co-workers and Flicks the candy is brought to mind. My co-workers knew exactly what candy I was referring to. The candy in the cardboard tube with foil colored wrapping that melted this sweet sensation on your tongue. What a wonderful flavor and I swear I can still taste the candy to this day from memory. Thanks for the memories! ~ Elizabeth from Washington
