Is all of your candy in-stock?
If a candy is out-of-stock you will see an indication on the product page and be given an opportunity to receive and email when it is back in-stock. Occasionally our inventory system will be out of sync with our website. When this happens you will receive an email notification and offered a chance to change or cancel your order.
Do I have to pay any sales tax?

When shipping outside Ohio, the collection of sales taxes is not required. Inside Ohio (where we are located) sales tax is collected on non-candy items which include retro toys and Remember When booklets. Candy is not subject to sales tax in Ohio. Applicable sales taxes will appear in the shopping cart during checkout.

General Questions - Answers:

Do you have a paper catalog?

We have a brochure and order form that you can download and print: click here

Is the candy really old?

All of our candy is fresh from the manufacturer. These candies have been in production for many years. We Baby Boomers have grown up, raised children (and now grandchildren), started and nurtured careers and are busy people. In the process we have forgotten about this part of our childhood. As we tell our granddaughter, "Candy makes my mouth happy!"

Will the candy make me feel young again?

The short answer is YES but don't take our word for it. See what our customers are saying about Candy you ate as a kid®. read more

Do you make the candy?

We do not make any of the candy. We buy it from over 70 different manufacturers.

Where can I buy your candy in my city?
The Old Time Candy Company is not the manufacturer of any of the products we sell. We are retailers who buy candy from over 70 different manufacturers and resell it on the web. We don't know where else it might be sold. In most cases the candy we sell is only available in certain regions of the country. The decision to sell regionally is made by the manufacturer.
Do you have a retail store?

We do not have a retail store. We sell only through our web site.

What is the shelf-life of the candy? (Times are expressed in months from the date of manufacture, not from the date of purchase.)
  • hard candy - 12 months
  • chocolate - 6 months
  • licorice - 6 months
  • taffy - 6 months
  • peanut butter candy - 3 months
  • gummi candy - 6 months
How should I store my candy?

We recommend that you store candy at room temperatures (~70 degrees) and not in a freezer or refrigerator. Freezing chocolate will cause a white film to appear. If absolutely necessary chocolate can be stored in a refrigerator but it might absorb some of the odors from other foods.

Where are those funny pictures of Karen and Donny?

Well, no one actually asked this question but, if you want a good chuckle, you will find them on the About Us page.
