"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. The sense of smell or taste is probably the strongest trigger of memory. It's hard to find the original Dubble Bubble in stores these days, but when I do, it can sure take me back! Chewing a piece of Dubble Bubble transports me instantly to my childhood in Yonkers, NY. I can remember more than once getting a dollar and, on Saturday, walking maybe 4 miles to the candy store on Broadway that sold Dubble Bubble for a penny a piece. I'd buy 100 pieces in a brown paper bag, and stash it like treasure underneath my bed. Chewing Dubble Bubble now conjures up of images of exploring the woods, playing Army, 4th of July family gatherings, etc. Dubble Bubble is like a mini time machine. ~ Scott from Florida
