"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here. When my mom used to go to the grocery store she generally took my sister and me. Mom would always buy us a little treat when we were done, and more times than not, we would both choose a Marathon bar. Neither one of us ate the whole thing at once, but instead made it last the entire day, and every time we would take a bite, we would imitate the commercial that we loved, and say "It lasts a long, long, long time" complete with drawl and hand movement. We are now grown and many times we have wished we could find the Marathon Bar... Maybe just so we could relive a part of our childhood that brings back such delicious memories. ~ Debi from Arizona
My memory about the Marathon Candy bar is from Elementary School. There was a small store below my house I could walk to, and I always went to the candy looking for something new. One day I saw a candy bar in a long red flat pack, and it said Marathon in big red letters. It said it was caramel and chocolate, my favorites!!! I tried one and fell in love. I always got them for my birthday, Christmas, Easter, you name the holiday, my mom and dad always got me some. And as happens, they stopped making them.
One day a couple years ago, searching marathon Candy Bar online, I was directed to Old Time Candy Co., where my childhood memories came back to life. Although the bar was smaller, a sign of the times, it was the same candy bar and I could relive my early years. It brought back those days running outside with my marathon. Old Time candy Co. helped me go back in time, Thank you!! ~ Keith from North Carolina
