Cry Baby Bubble Gum memories... Oh my! Riding the school bus in the afternoon was always a pittance.
Until someone called out "SOUR FIGHT!", that is. Once that call went out, Cry Baby gumballs were given to those who wanted to participate.
Those who won, got a free package of Cry Babies.
To say that I won would be a lie, because I never had the constitution or resistance to win. But it was those contests that brought us kids
together at a young age. It's a candy that I love and remember, and I always anticipate a stick of these Cry Baby Bubble Gum pieces. ~ Miles

Wow- the memories associated with this candy sure do take me back! I grew up in Port Huron Michigan
for the first 11 years of my life and then moved to Fraser Michigan when my Mom got married. I have a little sister Molly- and we used to
ride our bikes up to the 7-11 near our house and buy as many pieces of Cry Baby Extra Sour Bubble Gum as we could afford.
We would take it to the park and dare each other to eat pieces, until our faces were so puckered we
couldn't stand it anymore! I can specifically remember eating about 3 pieces of the apple and feeling like I just couldn't take it
anymore.... I was going to have to spit it out- but wait, then she'd win! Chewing the sour gum for long lengths of time was like a trophy!
Looking back on it these were some of my fondest memories, time cherished with the kid sister that's
now grown. Geez- now I think I need to order some and ship all the apple pieces to my sister- with a little tag: I dare YOU! ~ Sarah from
Michigan
When I was very young maybe 8
or 9 I lived in New York City with my 12 brothers and sisters and
every Friday after school I would come home to my siblings and we
would watch Green Acres until our Parents arrived Home. Only on
Friday nights after Dinner My brother and I would walk down the
street to the Convenience store and buy 12 Packs of Cry Baby Bubble
gum, Because everybody in our family loved them, Which is rare for
everybody in our family to like the same thing. Now every
Thanksgiving At our Family Reunion For dessert We all still have
this special One of a kind candy and it brings back great memories
when I see it on Old time candy. ~ Alex from New Jersey
