"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.Picture it. Christmas morning. The three of us (kids) huddled near the stairs, waiting for the okay from Mom to enter the living room. Our dad, a huge fan of his 8mm camera (70's version of a video camera) would set up so that he could capture our little faces and the joy we showed as we first saw the Christmas tree.
The lights were twinkling on the tree and the bright light from the movie camera would shine on the gold coins that were strewn from the opening of the fireplace to the tree. Mom would always say "Mrs. Claus still hasn't repaired that hole in Santa's pocket yet." We would laugh and dive for the candy. We would pick up as many pieces as we could and take them to our spots on the floor and wait for Mom to hand out the first gift to each of us.
To this day, it is one of my favorite memories. I even do the same thing with my own three children. Nothing like a chocolate coin on Christmas morning to bring back memories. ~ Kim from Colorado
