"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.I have only stolen one item in my life, and it was my favorite candy of all time: Chick-O-Sticks. The year was 1981, and the place was Wab Drugs in Seabreeze, New York. I was 13 and my friend Kim dared me to do it. The Chick-O-Stick cost only 10 cents. I slipped it in my pocket and left the store. Did I feel guilty? Sure. I was a good Catholic school girl. But that Chick-O-Stick tasted so good. That peanut butter and coconut combination was awesome!
As I grew up, Chick-O-Sticks became harder to find until they seemed to disappear forever. Then . . . I was married in October 2003 and my husband, Jim, gave me a box to open at Christmas. It was a carton of Chick-O-Sticks that he purchased on the Internet. That's when I knew I was in love! ~ Kerri from New York
