"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.My mother trekked to town every two weeks for groceries in the 1950s. Taking six children to the store was out of the question, but we looked forward to her excursion. Although money was tight, she always returned with a single candy bar for each of us.
I'm not sure how it was determined who received the Zero, the Snickers Bar, the Milky Way or other assorted candy bars. The one she reserved for herself was a Cherry Mash. In my mind, I counted that Cherry Mash as an adult treat, as it was never offered to us. Now when I see one, it brings back memories of a special time. ~ Virginia from Florida
