"candy you ate as a kid" story?
Share it here.I grew up an Army brat. My father would go off to serve his country and left my mother, sister, & I here. He went oversees and walked into this drugstore that sold bubble gum cigarettes. During those times we didn't carry a lot of variety when it came to candy, etc. So he decided to mail me a box of 5 to 10.
I remember it became a routine, every time he would leave us to the call of duty. I recall stopping him before he left and reminding him to send those bubble gum cigarettes. And sure enough I would find myself running to the mailbox everyday awaiting there arrival. The main thing (besides it being an item no other child had) was that the gum blew out smoke like a real cigarette. I use to show off to all the kids that I was all grown up. ~ Lisa from Texas
