Share it here. What wonderful memories come from something so small. I'm talking about 'Bottle Caps' when I was a little boy, 7 or 8 years old I would take my allowance money down to Joes Market and buy all the Bottle caps I could afford. Then I would race home and go directly to my bedroom where I would open all the packs at once. These would get dumped out on my bed and separated by color.
I would then proceed (as any little boy would) to stage a war between all the various colors. The fighting would be intense, over the pillow, around a crumple of blankets, through a tunnel in the sheets. Casualties were taken off the battlefield and never seen again. Mmm Mmm good. The purples would 'go' first, then the oranges, and so on, until only the brown (root beer) ones remained victorious. Their victory was always short-lived, because being my favorite, they didn't last long. Yum, Yum.
Recently I stumbled across some bottle caps at a little mom and pop store and bought all they had. I no longer play war games, but the memories are sweeter than ever. ~ Ken from Oregon
